FAQ
Getting started, workouts and your watch.
How do I get started?
Sign in with an invited Google account, save your gym and confirm its equipment. Choose Create workout, review your exercises and targets, then save and approve. You can plan and log training without a watch.
Should I create a module or a session?
A module focuses on one muscle group and is reusable. A session can cover several muscle groups. Both can be created manually, from an example or with AI. Strength is the available workout type for now.
Previously saved multi-muscle modules are unchanged. A new copy or workout based on their full focus uses the Session format.
What are variants A and B?
Variants are alternative modules for the same gym and muscle focus, not the order you completed them. Use the plus button on a module to create another. Workouts saved before gym tracking keep their original names and are not assigned to a gym automatically.
What happens when I save today's session?
Your selected workouts and their order become available in the watch app for that day. They remain separate workouts: saving does not combine, start or record them. Review and approve any draft before downloading it.
Unsaved choices stay while you browse the app, but can be lost on reload, sign-out or a new day. Save before leaving. Calendar plans are not automatically added to Garmin's calendar.
How is muscle focus suggested?
Suggestions rotate toward muscles trained less recently and less often in the last seven days. You can change them. Assumed completions count until corrected; unreviewed imports and possible duplicates do not. This is not a recovery or readiness assessment.
How do gyms and equipment affect workouts?
Save up to three gyms and select the one you are using. Confirm only equipment you actually have. The full-gym preset assumes all listed equipment, so review it carefully. AI prefers suitable exercises using confirmed equipment, with bodyweight options where useful.
Changing gyms does not rewrite saved workouts. Compatibility notes help you check what a workout needs; they do not prevent watch delivery. Confirm alternative setups in person before adding them.
What should I know before scanning gym photos?
Use clear wide views and close-ups of equipment labels and attachments. Avoid photographing other people. Scans can miss or misidentify equipment and cannot verify its condition or installation. Correct the checklist before saving.
Photo analysis needs your consent to send images privately to Azure; processing may occur outside your country or region. Uploaded photos are deleted when you finish or cancel the review. Abandoned uploads may remain until cleanup runs after one day. JPEG, PNG and WebP are supported, not HEIC.
How do I install and pair the watch app?
Manual test downloads are available for Forerunner 970, Venu (1st generation), Venu 2 and Venu 3. Choose the file for your exact model. Forerunner 235 cannot run the watch app. Download Liftomorrow for your watch and see installation steps.
Open Liftomorrow on your watch, enter its pairing code on the website's Watch page, then select Check approval: tap on Venu or press START on Forerunner 970. Codes expire after ten minutes. Keep Garmin Connect connected on your phone with internet access. Replacing the app file preserves pairing; deleting or resetting it may not.
How do I use a workout on my watch?
Beta requirement: always start your workout from Liftomorrow on your watch, not from Garmin's own workout menu. Starting from Liftomorrow is what lets the app automatically match and record your session; a workout started any other way cannot be auto-matched and will need manual confirmation.
Save your choices in Today, then open the watch app and choose a workout. Start workout downloads it if needed and opens Garmin. Start and save the recording in Garmin's native app, then reopen the watch app and keep it open to sync. You can also browse All workouts in the watch app.
Only active, approved workouts that Garmin can represent can be downloaded. App-built workouts support up to 25 sets and manual rests; follow the suggested rest shown on the watch. Leave extra time for warm-up and cooldown.
Why is a completion marked assumed or pending?
The watch app tries to match the workout you opened to a saved watch activity. A match assumes completion; it does not prove every prescribed set was finished, and even a short recording may match. Actual sets, reps and weights need an activity FIT import or your review.
Pending means the outcome is not confirmed. Reopen the watch app and sync, or use Confirm what happened on the Watch page. Choose Didn't do it for an abandoned attempt. Workouts started outside the watch app need manual confirmation or an activity import.
How do I import or correct training history?
Use Calendar to log or edit a session. Use Import & review for activity FIT files or an English Activities.csv export from Garmin Connect. Review suggested workout matches and confirm only what you performed. Blank loads mean unknown, not zero.
If a session is already in History, attach its FIT or resolve a possible duplicate rather than count it twice. Discard hides an import without deleting it from Garmin; use the Discarded filter to restore it. Plans, workout names and targets are not measured performance.
What is the difference between app, workout and activity files?
The watch app is a .prg file installed in GARMIN/APPS. A workout .fit is a plan: use the watch app to download it or copy it by USB to GARMIN/NEWFILES. A browser download alone does not install either file.
An activity .fit contains a recorded session and belongs in History. Workout JSON is app data, not a Garmin import. Keep the short reference at the start of your Garmin activity title to help match it to the correct workout.
Is AI required, and what are its limits?
No. Manual creation, examples and daily planning work without AI. AI drafts and exercise guidance can be wrong and are not personalized professional advice. Review them before use; stop if a movement causes pain and seek qualified guidance.
Your daily allowance is 20 AI attempts, shared across generation, photo analysis and any available insights. It resets at midnight UTC. A shared service limit also applies, and failed or cancelled attempts may count. AI never changes or approves a saved workout automatically.
What happens to my saved workouts and account?
Your workouts, gym settings and history are saved to your signed-in account. Sign out on shared devices. Editing creates a new workout rather than rewriting its past records. Archiving hides a workout but does not remove history or files already on your watch.
Account backup download, restore and account deletion controls are not available in the app right now. Revoke a watch connection from Watch to stop its access; already installed workouts cannot be removed remotely.
